The Advanced Medical Assistant program offered by E.D.P. Additionally, students will gain practical experience through hands-on internships in medical offices.

Through our program, students will gain proficiency in various aspects of medical office management, including patient admissions, medical billing, assistance during examinations, and performing procedures like venipunctures, EKGs, and technical laboratory tasks.

The program’s curriculum will equip graduates with the proficiency to efficiently handle various responsibilities, including patient admissions, medical billing, and assisting during medical examinations. Additionally, they will be adept at executing procedures such as venipunctures and conducting EKGs, while also possessing the technical laboratory skills necessary in a medical setting.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will qualify for entry-level positions as Medical Assistants, where they can actively contribute to patient care and the smooth operation of medical offices. Furthermore, their skill set will extend beyond clinical duties, making them qualified candidates for roles as Medical Office Receptionists or Billers, where they can play an integral role in administrative tasks and ensuring efficient workflow within medical practices.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well-equipped for employment in various healthcare settings, including doctor's offices, both in general practice and specialized fields, as well as other healthcare facilities.

Job Outlook

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment employment of Medical Assistants is projected to grow 19 percent from 2020 to 2030, This growth is primarily driven by the increasing demand for healthcare services due to the aging population and the expansion of healthcare facilities.

As the healthcare industry continues to expand, there will be a greater need for Medical Assistants to perform both administrative and clinical tasks. Medical Assistants play a vital role in healthcare settings, assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient care, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and performing basic medical procedures.

Furthermore, Medical Assistants with specialized skills or certifications, such as those in phlebotomy or electrocardiography (EKG), may have even better job prospects. Additionally, opportunities may be more abundant in outpatient care centers, ambulatory healthcare services, and group medical practices.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be equipped to pursue employment in both general and specialized doctor's offices, as well as other healthcare facilities. They will possess the necessary skills to efficiently carry out assigned tasks, whether in front office responsibilities or back office procedures, under the supervision of a doctor.
