E.D.P. School’s Middle States accredited Medical Assistant training program in Brooklyn, NY will teach students the essential skills necessary to administer many of the clinical and administrative requirements typically performed within any medical facility. They will be able to carry out tasks such as as obtaining an individual’s vital signs, collecting medical specimens, withdrawing blood, and administering injections.
Upon course completion, our students will also be trained to assist in administrative skills and functions. They will be taught proper back-office clerical skills such as participating in accurate patient record keeping, reception room management, maintaining electronic health records, performing patient scheduling, and learning how to provide outstanding customer service.
Medical Assistants can eventually choose to go on to become certified in many specialized areas with additional schooling and education. While our program focuses on teaching well-rounded baseline medical skills, such as performing venipunctures, conducting EKGs, assisting during medical examinations, laboratory technician skills, and administrative duties, a Certified Medical Assistant can elect to further specialize in additional medical categories.
This course has been approved by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Middle States Association of America.
