Comprehensive Medical Assistant Training Program: Preparing for Excellence in Healthcare Assistance

Our Certified Medical Assistant program has been thoughtfully crafted to equip students with the essential skills required for a successful CMA role, covering vital procedures like venipuncture, EKGs, as well as important areas of medical assisting, such as examinations and laboratory work.

Located in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, E.D.P. School offers a Middle States accredited Medical Assistant training program. Here, students will receive thorough instruction in both clinical and administrative aspects of medical assistance, enabling them to proficiently carry out tasks commonly performed within various medical facilities. From administering vital signs and collecting medical specimens to performing blood withdrawals and administering injections, our program provides students with the necessary skills to excel in their CMA careers.

Upon course completion, our students will also be trained to assist in administrative skills and functions. They will be taught proper back-office clerical skills such as participating in accurate patient record keeping, reception room management, maintaining electronic health records, performing patient scheduling, and learning how to provide outstanding customer service.

Medical Assistants can eventually choose to go on to become certified in many specialized areas with additional schooling and education. While our program focuses on teaching well-rounded baseline medical skills, such as performing venipunctures, conducting EKGs, assisting during medical examinations, laboratory technician skills, and administrative duties, a Certified Medical Assistant can elect to further specialize in additional medical categories.

Medical Assistant jobs are on the rise. Employment of Medical Assistants is projected to grow 19 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to increase demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As a result, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients. Medical Assistant jobs are on the rise. 

An increasing number of group practices, clinics, and other healthcare facilities will also need support workers, particularly medical assistants, to complete both administrative and clinical duties.
